As a partner at Crenshaw Dupree & Milam, Elliott V. Nixon focuses his practice exclusively on a variety of civil litigation matters. Based in the firm’s offices in Lubbock, Texas, the city in which he was born and raised, he represents businesses and individuals throughout the western part of the state. As an undergraduate, Mr. Nixon attended Texas Tech University in his hometown, and he majored in public relations and political science and was a Presidential Scholarship recipient before obtaining a Bachelor of Arts with honors in 2006.
A significant portion of Mr. Nixon’s practice involves personal injury and wrongful death litigation, in which he defends insurance company clients and their policy holders in cases arising out of medical malpractice and other forms of professional negligence, premises liability, workplace accidents, truck and other motor vehicle crashes, and pedestrian knockdowns. He has achieved a great deal of success in this regard in that he has been able to obtain favorable jury verdicts and negotiate settlements that benefit his clients.
Mr. Nixon has also represented both plaintiffs and defendants in several types of commercial litigation. His experience has included breach of contract actions and other business disputes, insurance coverage, tortious interference, labor and employment matters, and construction defects and other real estate issues. Mr. Nixon’s successful track record in and out of the courtroom has earned him a great deal of positive recognition from his fellow members of the bar, including being named to Lubbock Magazine’s annual “Top Attorneys” list. A 2009 graduate of St. Mary’s University School of Law, he is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and he is active in several legal and community organizations.
