Amy Spain

Amy Spain is a partner at Ain & Bank, P.C., in Washington, D.C., where she focuses her practice on family law matters. She represents clients in high-stakes divorces, equitable distribution of assets, spousal and child support, and custody and visitation disputes. Amy also advises clients on prenuptial and postnuptial agreements and handles appellate matters.

Known for her thorough preparation and practical approach, Amy works to resolve cases discreetly and efficiently outside the courtroom whenever possible. When litigation is necessary, she advocates for her clients at every stage, from trial through appeal. She often collaborates with wealth managers, accountants, business valuators, and trust and estate attorneys to protect her clients’ financial interests and plan for their future.

Amy earned her B.A. in English and Communications from Virginia Tech and her J.D. from the  George Mason University School of Law. She is licensed to practice in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia and is admitted before the Supreme Court of the United States. She has been recognized by Washingtonian magazine as a Top Lawyer for divorce and family law and included in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch since 2021.
